As part of the new musical education courses for children that Speyer Cathedral Music is organizing, effective immediately, vocal early education is being offered to boy and girls from 2 ½ to 4 years old.

Children will be grouped with other children their age, and together they will gain access to a world of music. Stimulating suggestions and learning impetus will promote the development of musical hearing notably. Through singing, dancing and making music, the children will learn the basic elements of music: pitch, duration, meter, rhythm and dynamics.

According to the course instructor, Petra Niopek, speaking at the presentation of her concept, “singing together strengthens abilities in perception and concentration in children, and simultaneously furthers competence in social behavior.”

Registration is for a half-year term. Children are welcome to join the Early Childhood Vocal Education courses at any time.
