Art History / Art Theory

Ludwig Rinn

Art History versus Ceramic and Glass Art: This comparison may neither be a matter of communicating educational contents nor a timeless scientific discourse. The question is rather about - mindful of a saying of Schlegel - the historian being the prophet looking backwards or even the examination of an art historical object from a contemporary doers point of view. The historical view escorts the artistic work here and now, reflects and provides breathing space and orientation. This is what we claim.
