Photography

Helge Articus

Photography and photographic vision mean to me to be consciously aware of the environment, to observe and analyse. One of the preconditions for perfect images is to learn to spot the details and to be able to untie the things I would like to transform photographically from their environment boiling them down to those things that are important for the photographic statement.
Sensations and emotions and what causes and induces them are equally important.
A photo will only appear cool and matter-of-factly if it has been taken in a cool and matter-of-fact way and it will only become emotional if it has been taken with the photographic means of emotionality.
Together with the students I try to imagine the pictures in my head so that they can emerge in front of the camera.
