Preparation at home

Visa

All students who are residents of Non-European Union (Non-EU) countries, should inquire at the German Embassy in their country as to whether a visa is necessary. We can send a letter, confirming your acceptance here if required. Also make sure that you have insurance and that the proper authorities are notified in your home and your host country.

If you arrive outside regular office hours or on Saturdays, Sundays or on public holidays please inform us to make sure that your student guide picks you up at the station.

Documents needed
(to be sent in advance):

  • Learning Agreement
  • Transcript of records
  • Student application form (ERASMUS)
    (= Application for student exchange)
  • Curriculum Vitae (with photo)

What to bring from home

  • 2 passport photos
  • proof of health insurance

For the registration as a student at the Fachhochschule Koblenz you need proof of full medical insurance (Travel insurance is not accepted). At a German health insurance office your insurance will be checked. If it is not sufficient you need to insure yourself in Germany. This costs about 60 Euro per months for students until the age of 30 and is more expensive above the age of 30.

For EU citizens with state cover or equivalent an E128 is sufficient.
