This database lists not just wine festivals, wine fairs and local presentations, but also the complete exhibition schedule for all of the Palatinate. There are as many as 10,000 entries.
For passionate wine festival visitors, the handy brochure entitled, “The Palatinate celebrates . . .” in 2020 is a must.
Wine at the Cathedral
Speyer, birthplace of pinot gris (“grauburgunder” in German) and the location of the world’s first wine museum will be host to the “Wine at the Cathedral” fair again on April 7 and 8, 2018. The fair is intended to serve as the wine forum of the Palatinate.
Groups and associations will present themselves to the public at six venues located around the Cathedral. Examples include the Association of German Wine Estates of Distinction, the Palatine Barrique Forum (red wines), Vinissima, Ecovin, Bioland, Young Men of the Palatinate, as well as the State Agriculture Department which will introduce prize-winning wines. Many individual wineries that do not belong to one of the associations will also be represented.
This fair is a must for fans of wine because so concentrated and variety-packed a display of the wines produced in Germany’s second largest wine-producing region has never before been shown. Another reason is the fact that a ticket to the Wine Museum in the Historical Museum is included in the price of the ticket to the fair. Guided tours of the fair and a supporting program will support the fair.
