Hate speech, hatred and discrimination are becoming more and more widespread on the Internet - especially in social networks, forums and comment columns. The term Hate Speech has also become established for this phenomenon in German usage. Hate speech is not purely an online phenomenon, but picks up on real structures of power and discrimination. But how can Hate Speech be recognised and what can be done against it? This brochure is intended to help identify hate speech, including its more subtle forms, and to develop options for action in order to effectively counter misanthropic statements online and offline.
The brochure is primarily aimed at professionals and parents and provides concrete tips for (media education) work with young people.
