Good resolutions for 2023Start the new year with Digital Detox!

Push messages, constant accessibility and a seemingly endless flood of content have become a stress factor for many. Digital detox can help. This involves consciously giving up electronic devices or individual apps for a certain period of time. The renunciation is intended to help us better assess how much digital content is good for our lives. klicksafe supports you in this endeavor with appropriate materials and activities on Safer Internet Day.

A survey by industry association Bitkom shows that 14 percent of respondents want to do without certain devices or apps for one or more days in 2023. 20 percent even want to do so for several weeks. For 51 percent, however, doing without is out of the question. These figures already show that digital stress is a very individual issue. Not everyone is affected in the same way. In addition to stress, there can also be very different reasons why people decide to take a digital break. Some want to revive old habits and hobbies, such as reading books. Others find that spending so much time at screens makes them move less than they used to and want to change that. Or they are curious if they could even live without smartphones and digital entertainment.

Digital Detox Box

klicksafe offers the Digital Detox Box, a material for teaching in schools and for independent youth work. With the Digital Detox Box, young people learn to analyze their own usage behavior, to use digital devices more consciously and to think about digital well-being. The strategies range from cell phone fasting and time-out exercises to hand-strengthening finger yoga. The Digital Detox Box is available from klicksafe for download and in printed form.

Ommm online - How we increase our digital well-being

The aim of the teaching material "Ommm online" is to educate about the strategies of providers and the appeal of social media. This gives young people tools with which they can regulate technologies and thus increase their digital well-being. This also includes creating a healthy balance in media and technology use and, for example, doing without media for a time through digital detox.
