Old City Gate in Flames

On Tuesday, 1 December 2020 and Wednesday, 16 December 2020 at 7:30 pm, you should plan to be there when the Cathedral City invites you to its main attraction during the pre-Christmas period, the “Old Gate in Flames”. It is held in front of its city gate which dates back to the Middle Ages.

Glistening silver stars, playful golden rain, colorful rockets and a “water carpet” flowing down the historic gate’s tower — those are the hallmarks of the “Old Gate in Flames” exhibition.

The starry rain is accentuated with suitable music, sometimes classical, sometimes modern. Thousands of visitors pour into Maximilian Street every year to see this light, music and fireworks spectacular.
