7th EUROPT Workshop
“Advances in Continuous Optimization”
July 3-4, 2009, Remagen, Germany
Aim of the Conference
The international workshop is being organized by EURO Working Group on Continuous Optimization EUROPT directly before the conference EURO XXIII 2009.
It will continue in the line of the previous EUROPT Workshops:
2000 in Budapest, 2001 in Rotterdam, 2003 in Istanbul, 2004 in Rhodes, 2006 in Reykjavik and, last time 2007 in Prague – where we celebrated a Joint EUROPT-OMS Conference. The workshop aims to bring together researchers from continuous optimization and from related fields of discrete optimization, operations research, economy and technology. It intends to be a forum for the exchange of recent scientific developments and for the discussion of new trends. The scope of the conference includes all aspects of smooth and nonsmooth optimization from fundamental research to numerical methods and applications.
Topics
- linear, semidefinite and conic programming,
- nonlinear programming,
- semi-infinite optimization,
- complementarity problems,
- nonsmooth and derivative-free optimization,
- global optimization,
- stochastic optimization,
- optimal control,
- optimization in data mining, statistical and machine learning,
- optimization in technology, bio- and social systems, and in the financial sector.
